Class Syllabus
- “Brush Up” (review proper brush care)
- Learn how to properly use and load flat brushes, scriptliner, and the mini scruffy brush
- Learn the strokes to paint scarecrow (pumpkin, hat, straw, overalls, details)
- Learn to use patterns
- Learn to float color for shadowing
- Paint project as time permits
Pre-Class Prep:
- Purchase all the supplies before class

Supply List:
SUGGESTED SURFACE:
- Oval matte board, 12×12 scrapbook page, gift bag, or surface of choice
BRUSHES:
- 1059 Plaid One Stroke Value Pack Brushes (best value)
For this project we will be using ¾” and #12, #8, #6, #4 & #2 flat brushes, #2 scriptliner, and small scruffy
PLADI FOLK ART PAINTS:
- Burnt Umber
- Berry Wine
- Licorice
- Pure Orange
- School Bus Yellow
- Thicket
- Wicker White
- Yellow Ochre
- Linen, optional for background
- Butter Pecan, optional for background
MEDIUMS & OTHER TOOLS:
- 868 Folk Art Floating Medium
- 1060 One Stroke Brush Basin or any brush basin
- Graphite or Transfer Paper
- Stylus or similar
BASIC SUPPLIES FROM HOME:
- Class registration receipt
- Paper and pencil for note taking
- Paper towels
- 5-10 Styrofoam plates–undivided and not paper
- Apron or similar, to protect clothing from splatters (optional, but highly recommended)
