Class Syllabus
- “Brush Up” (review proper brush care)
- Learn about the features and uses for Folk Art’s Metallic Paints
- Learn to properly load and use the flat scruffy brush and scriptliner
- Learn to basecoat surface and apply frame border
- Learn the strokes to paint teddy bears, facial features, string ribbon and finishing details
- Learn how to use patterns
- Explore project ideas
- Paint a project
Pre-Class Prep:
- Purchase all the supplies before class

Supply List:
SUGGESTED SURFACE:
- Wooden Frame with 4-5/8 x 4-5/8 picture opening
BRUSHES:
- 1059 Plaid One Stroke Value Pack Brushes (best value) For this project we will be using 3/4" & #12 flat brushes, #2 scriptliner, and both scruffybrushes
PLAID FOLK ART PAINTS:
- 659 Metallic Pearl White
- 577 Metallic Sahara Gold
- 676 Metallic Inca Gold
- 675 Metallic Champagne
- 901 Wicker White
- 462 Burnt Umber
MEDIUMS & OTHER TOOLS:
- Floating Medium
- Graphite Paper–black, brown or gray
- Low-tack painter’s tape (for frame border)
- 1060 One Stroke Brush Basin or any brush basin
BASIC SUPPLIES FROM HOME:
- Class registration receipt
- Stylus or similiar
- Paper and pencil for note taking
- Paper towels
- 5-10 Styrofoam plates–undivided and not paper
- Apron or similar, to protect clothing from splatters (optional, but highly recommended)
